For twenty one years, CMG has provided Sprinkler Repair for Central Oklahoma.

Lawn Irrigation Systems require maintenance from time to time.  All types of Sprinkler Repair become necessary.    Sprinkler heads break for several reasons.  Dogs chew up Sprinkler Heads.  Tree roots twist and break Sprinkler heads.  Cars run over and break Sprinkler Heads.  Weed Eaters cut the tops off Sprinkler Heads.  If you have a Sprinkler Head that is not performing perfectly, CMG can help.

Sprinkler Valves can have trouble too.  The Sprinkler Valve Wiring becomes disconnected or shorts out.  Tree Roots can stretch or break the Sprinkler WiresSprinkler Valves can start leaking over time. CMG can solve Sprinkler Valve problems of all types.

The Sprinkler Valves that you see above are a mess.  They were leaking and weren’t working correctly.  We replaced the above Sprinkler Valves with the ones you see below.

Sprinkler System Controllers can cause big headaches for home owners as well.  CMG can install a new sprinkler controller quickly and easily.

CMG Provides Expert Sprinkler Repair for:  Sprinkler Valves, Sprinkler Heads, Sprinkler Controllers, and the most common problem, Sprinkler Pipes or Sprinkler Leaks.

Sprinkler Repair Service is provided for: Oklahoma City, Norman, Edmond, Yukon, Mustang, Moore, Midwest City, Blanchard, New Castle, and all surrounding areas.

Sprinkler Repair is also very popular this time of year.  Folks in Central Oklahoma are turning on their Sprinkler Systems and discovering problems.  CMG Sprinkler Repair Specialist have been busy.  We fixed several leaks in a Sprinkler System in Edmond.  The sprinkler pipes were leaking in several places.  Each leak had to be cut out and replaced.  The Sprinkler System was fairly new.  It was installed last summer by a Pool Company that also installs cheap sprinkler systems. All the joints in the sprinkler pipes were glued together with clear PVC Cement.  That part is OK, But they cut some corners and didn’t use PVC Primer with the glue.  As a result the joints didn’t bond very well and many of them blew apart this spring when the sprinkler systems was turned on.  (Thus all the leaks)  I suspect we will have to go back several times to fix additional leaks.  We can only warranty the PVC joints that we have replaced.   Cheaper isn’t always better.

Now is a great time to consider a new Lawn Sprinkler Irrigation System by CMG.  CMG Sprinklers and Drains installs top of the line Sprinkler Systems that are dependable and last for decades.  Yes, I said decades!  We warranty our sprinklers for two years,  but we build them to last much longer.  We started small in Norman in 1993.  The sprinkler systems installed that year, to my knowledge are functional and going strong.

From time to time CMG Service Experts must work on a sprinkler system that we installed.  Usually it is for reasons beyond our control like, “lightning burning up a sprinkler controller” or,  “a customer running over a sprinkler head with their car.”

CMG designed sprinkler systems are fully automatic and self-draining.  When the sprinklers are not running, the system automatically drains the sprinkler pipes under ground.  If it gets cold there is no water in the sprinkler pipes to freeze.

CMG is gearing up for a busy year.  This winter has been unusually warm.  As a result, we are getting more calls earlier in the year.

Services provided by CMG carry a two-year warranty for parts and labor.  This includes Sprinkler System Installation,  Sprinkler Repair, and all Drainage Systems including French Drains, Surface Drains, and Channel Drains.

Sprinkler Adjustment by CMG Sprinkler and Drain — Adjustment of  a Sprinkler System is a necessary part of owning and operating an Irrigation SystemSprinkler Heads get run over by cars or get knocked out of adjustment by weed-eaters. Sprinkler Heads need to be moved or adjusted for many reasons.  If your Sprinklers are not putting water where it needs to go, give CMG a call.  405-226-0629

Wow, we have a new twist on sprinkler repair.  Broken sprinkler pipes occur for all kinds of reasons.  Sprinkler Pipes break because:  1.  They freeze (usually due to poor installation)  2.  Cars or trucks drive up in yards and break them.  3.  They blow apart under pressure (usually because primer was not used when the pipes were glued together).

This year we have had a lot of calls to fix leaking or broken sprinkler pipes due to Earth Quake Damage.  I would expect that in California, but Oklahoma?  Since 1993 CMG has fixed sprinkler systems for all kinds of reasons.  Earthquake damage is something new.

CMG Sprinklers and Drains — In business since 1993.  Servicing all of central Oklahoma, Including: Oklahoma City, Norman, Moore, Edmond, Midwest City, Del City, Blanchard, Newcastle, Mustang, and Yukon.  We Install Drainage Systems that utilize French Drains, Surface Drains, Channel Drains, Trench Drains, and Sump Pumps.  CMG also provides the best Sprinkler System Installation and Sprinkler Repair.

Sprinkler System Installation in Oklahoma can be complicated.   There are many details that very important to ensure that a new Sprinkler System be durable and dependable for many years to come.  Attention to detail makes all the difference when installing a Sprinkler System.  Many times, So-Called, ” Fly By Night Sprinkler Companies,”  cut lots of corners to save money.  Low price should not be the determining factor for having a Sprinkler System installed.  A cheap Sprinkler System soon becomes very expensive if it has to be fixed all the time or won’t work at all.

Two things you should require on any Sprinkler System:

1.  Make shure PRIMER  is used along with PVC Glue when the Sprinkler Pipe is put together.  Primer helps the glue to bond to the PVC pipe.  This ensures that all the pressurized pipe connections won’t leak over time.  I have seen Sprinkler Systems that were no more than a year old that leaked everywhere.  Again some Sprinkler Contractors will cut corners with the Primer.

2.  Make shure the connection for the Sprinkler System at the water meter is done with a, “compression T.”  This ensures that no leaks will occur over time at this connection.  The Sprinkler Connection at the water meter is highly stressed every time the Sprinkler System is turned on.  A connection with Glue and Primer will not hold up to the stress over time.  This is why a Compression T must be used.  This is another area that some Sprinkler Contractors choose to cut corners.

The above two points are just a few of the details that need to be considered when installing a Lawn Sprinkler System.

For twenty years, CMG has been paying close attention to the important details necessary to ensuring the Installation of Sprinkler Systems that are dependable and will last.

My name is Blane Callen. I have owned and operated CMG Sprinklers and Drains since 1993.  I take great pride in my work.  The Letters “CMG” stand for the first letter of the first name of each of my children.  ( Chance, Melissa, Garrett )  = CMG

I have amassed a great deal of experience designing and installing Sprinkler Systems Repairing Sprinkler Systems, and designing and installing Drainage SystemsIn the past 19 years, I have made mistakes, but I have learned from them.  As a result I get calls, from time to time,  from other Sprinkler and Drainage companies that have run into a problem that they can’t handle.  I am always glad to help.

I usually don’t take money up front for Sprinkler Installation, Sprinkler Repair, or French Drain Installation.  I prefer that the customer pay me when the job is complete and they are happy with the work.  In a few cases on very large jobs I request a draw or outlay for parts.  The parts are delivered from my supplier to the address where the job is being done and equal the amount of the draw.  The parts stay on the premises until they are installed.

Please leave a comment at the bottom if you like.

CMG Sprinklers and Drains started 2015 with a Sprinkler System installation in South Oklahoma City.  The home owner had well water for the Sprinkler System.  The Well-Pump was a 1 and a half horse Well-Pump.  This size Pump is very good for Sprinkler Systems.  It is not too big and not too small.  CMG can install Sprinkler Systems with Pumps as small as 3/4 horse.   We also install Sprinkler Systems connected to any standard residential water meter up to two inch.

Sprinkler Valve installation in Edmond

Sprinkler Valve installation in Edmond

When connecting to the Well-Pump, we installed a Back-Flow Valve and a Master Valve.  The Back-Flow valve ensures that water can only flow from the Well to the Sprinkler System.  It can’t flow from the Sprinkler System to the well.  This ensures that the Well Water will stay safe and pure.

Back-Flow Valve installation in Norman

Back-Flow Valve installation in Norman

Next, we installed a Master Valve.   A Master Valve is always a “Must” for any Sprinkler System.  A Master Valve allows a Sprinkler System to:  1.  Drain Automatically Under Ground.  2.  Makes sure there are no pressurized Sprinkler Pipes EXCEPT WHEN THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS RUNNING.  3.  Provides a “Fail-Safe” for the customer if something goes wrong with the Sprinkler System.  If you have water shooting up in the air or have a leak of any kind all you do is turn the Sprinkler Controller to, “OFF”, and it will stop.  If it was installed by CMG, then you call us.  A Master Valve ensures that you will not have water running down the hill while you are waiting for service.  Also, THE WATER GOING TO YOUR HOUSE WILL NOT BE AFFECTED IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SPRINKLER SYSTEM.  EVERYTHING INSIDE YOUR HOME WILL WORK PERFECTLY.  ( WASHER, DISHWASHER SINK, etc.)

CMG also installs Drainage Systems, and provides expert Sprinkler Repair.  If you live in Edmond and need a French Drain, Or if you live in Norman and are having trouble with your Sprinkler System Controller, or if you live in Yukon and need a Surface Drain, Give CMG a Call.

Drainage Systems, French Drains, Surface Drains, Channel Drains, Sump Pumps, Sprinkler Systems, Sprinkler Repair, with 21 years of experience.

A Channel Drain is a type of Surface Drain and many times is installed in concrete across sidewalks or driveways.  It is long and narrow with a grate on top.

A French Drain is completely different from a Surface Drain.  A basic French Drain consists of a Perforated Drain Pipe in the bottom of a trench.  A  Trench Liner is sometimes used depending on the Drainage System Design and the type of soil.   The Drain Pipe should have a neoprene sock around the Perforated Drain Pipe.   This is to ensure that the Drain Pipe does not become clogged. A trench is dug that is slightly wider than the French Drain Pipe that is being used.  There are several sizes of French Drain Pipe.   Three Inch, Four Inch, and Six Inch are the most common sizes of French drain Pipe. The dirt that is taken out to make the trench is hauled away.  It is replaced by some type of small stone or gravel depending on what is desired or available.  I prefer crushed 1 inch lime stone.  It is the most economical option in my area.  Pea Gravel or some other type of small stone can work just as well.    The lime-stone or gravel is placed in the trench on top of the perforated Drain Pipe and filled all the way to the surface (ground level).   In some cases where the French Drain needs to be deep or is being placed in sandy soil, a special trench liner must be placed in the trench before the perforated Drain Pipe or the Gravel are installed.  This helps maintain the integrity of the trench over time.  It also increases the cost of the French Drain and the amount of time to install it.  I install a trench liner in a French Drain about 20% of the time.  Most of the time a liner in not needed.

A French Drain is designed to handle a large volume of water and cover a large area. The Drain is anyplace the trench goes. It has many applications and can be used in many situations.  It can be installed by itself or incorporated into a Drainage System with Surface Drains or Gutter Down-Spouts connected to it.
The main downfall of a French Drain is that they, for the most part aren’t very pretty.  They don’t look very nice in a yard once they are completed.
Depending on the area the French Drain is installed and the type of grass around the French Drain, will dictate whether grass grows over the lime stone.  Grass can grow up and through the gravel in the French Drain over time eventually covering the gravel.  This is OK.  It won’t have a measurable effect on the performance of the drain.
DONT COVER THE GRAVEL IN THE FRENCH DRAIN WITH DIRT.  THE FRENCH DRAIN WON’T WORK IF THE TRENCH IS CLOGGED WITH DIRT.  DON’T EVEN INSTALL IT IF YOU ARE GOING TO COVER IT UP WITH DIRT.
DECORATIVE STONE CAN BE USED TO COVER A FRENCH DRAIN AND THEY LOOK GREAT AND LAST A LIFETIME.

CMG Sprinklers and Drains —  Recently due to very cold weather, many people with Sprinkler Systems in the Oklahoma City area had Sprinkler Pipes freeze and bust.  In Norman, we fixed broken Sprinkler Valves that had frozen because they had been installed incorrectly.  The Sprinkler System Company that installed them didn’t know what they were doing.  There was no Master Valve installed in the Sprinkler System.  As a result, The Sprinkler Pipe between the water meter and the Sprinkler Valves stayed pressurized all the time.  This is bad during a cold snap in Oklahoma.  If a Master Valve and In-Line Pipe Drains had been installed originally, there would be no broken pipes when it got too cold.    The Sprinkler Pipes would drain automatically.

CMG always installs a Master Sprinkler Valve on every new Sprinkler System that we install.  If you are thinking about having a Sprinkler System installed,  always ask if a “MASTER VALVE ” will be part of the Sprinkler System.  If the Sprinkler Company says “NO” then ask why.  Any answer to convince you that it isn’t necessary is pure BS.

If they don’t know what a Master Valve is, Then RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Unfortunately, poor  or cheap Sprinkler System Installation is common.  CMG provides expert Sprinkler Repair within 50 Miles of Oklahoma City in all directions.

Sprinkler Repair in Oklahoma City.

Recently we spent an afternoon checking out a Sprinkler System in Northwest Oklahoma City.  The customer told us that many of the heads in the Sprinkler System had a variety of problems.  Her Sprinkler System was fairly large so the Sprinkler System Checkup would take some time.

Broken Sprinkler Head

First we had to run each Sprinkler Zone and look at each Sprinkler Head individually.  This took a while considering that there were 18 zones and 5 to 10 Sprinkler Heads in Each Zone.

First we looked to see if each Sprinkler Head was functioning correctly.  Many of the heads were leaking at the base. Other Sprinkler Heads were not spraying correctly and needed to have their Sprinkler Nozzles Replaced.  Some of the Sprinklers were just worn out and needed to be replaced.

As we went through the Sprinkler System, we placed a flag by each head that needed some type or Sprinkler Repair or Replacement.  Along the way we also checked Sprinkler Coverage.  Some Sprinkler Heads needed to be moved because some areas were either too dry or too wet.  Several Sprinkler Heads needed to be moved.

Before the end of the day, we replaced 12 Sprinkler Heads, Changed Out 35 Sprinkler Nozzles, and moved 11 sprinkler heads to new locations.
